Costa Rica June 2016 Is Really Happening!

The last few days have been intense as my daughters, Megan and Molly, and I have been anxiously waiting to see whether or not we would be going to Costa Rica with other students from our school district.  I promised the girls that I would sign them up for the trip if at least 13 other kids registered.  This way, I could go along as a chaperone.  Yesterday morning, we got the word that there were 14 registrations so we are officially going to Costa Rica!  I can't wait to share my experiences as we plan for this trip!

Does anyone care what I think?

I've avoided this blogging thing for a long time now.  I do love reading well-designed, articulate blogs that are full of beautiful images.  I wish I could promise to create the same type of product.  I'm going to try my best to share with my readers my experiences as I plan and take two educational trips out of the country.  The first of these trips is this summer to Mexico.  The second trip is in June 2016 to Costa Rica.  As I go through the planning process, I will be using this blog to record my thoughts, my fears and my goals.

I will also be using this blog as an educational tool for Spanish students.  I hope to bring the language alive to them as they get to witness me experiencing travel and culture.  I want to show them that learning a language doesn't have within the vacuum of the classroom walls.  It is a living experience that only has meaning when it crosses borders.

So, does anyone care about what I think?  I'm not sure.  What I do know is that this blog will be a place for me to gather my words, my photos, my artifacts, my links and my new knowledge.  If that is only interesting to me, I think I can live with it.
